Each Chanukah our students make
Chanukiot. For inspiration they go no
further than the Beth Tzedec Museum,
whose curator teaches them about
Chanukiot from throughout the ages.
Then our little artists set out to create
their own Chanukiah as they explore
options
like what
materials to
use and how
to ensure it
is kosher.
WHO AM I?
Built on the All About Me theme in
JK, we help our children appreciate
their own growth through self-
portraits (they also make for a
sweet SK memento.) Our focus
on self-understanding and critical
thinking through the arts continues
throughout the years.
WHEELS UP!
What better way to celebrate Yom Ha'Atzmaut than with an imaginary trip
to Israel? That's what our SK students do, and their itinerary is jam-packed.
After flying El Al, complete with a safety video and in-flight snack of Israeli
oranges, the children begin their adventures in
the Holy Land. They visit Jerusalem, make
salt jars at the Dead Sea, and excavate
rocks during an archeological dig. In our
Reggio Emilia-inspired program, the
world can indeed come to us.
