22 GRADE FOUR I S R A E L S H E L A N U At RHA, Israel is not just a subject. It's integrated into everything we teach. In Judaic studies, students learn about the history of Israel. In social studies, our children learn about Israel's geography. In math, we teach about Israel's economic realities. In language arts, kids get a glimpse of Israeli culture. Fourth graders are particularly focused on Jerusalem and parents are part of a deeply moving tribute to our holiest city. D I G I TA L C O L L A B O R AT I O N Kidblog allows students to share their work with their classmates who then offer constructive feedback on it. Not only does blogging offer a digital approach to collaboration, it ensures that the conversation continues outside the classroom. C A N A D I A N R O A D T R I P Grade 4 students take a road trip across Canada. The catch? They are not allowed to leave the classroom. The students work together to co- ordinate destinations, routes and modes of transportation. Using an app called Marvel, the students plan a 30-day adventure that has them using math and graphing skills to get where they are going – on time and on budget. G O R H A ! RHA is a sports school. In a single year, we won the Jewish Day School Basketball Tournament. Grade 4 students came in 1st and 2nd in cross- country running. And we placed 2nd in our hockey league. In soccer, our fourth grade girls took home the gold. If your child is an athlete, we have plenty to offer. Y E A R 7
