GROWING LITTLE CITIZENS
Who are the people in our neighbourhood? There is
nothing like a community walk to find out about the
world around us. Students hit the streets of Cedervale
as part of our social science curriculum. Building
citizens of the world begins right outside our doors.
THEIR VERY OWN SIDDUR
First graders receive their own siddur at a special
ceremony. They celebrate with family through song and
dance, and proudly lead a Shacharit (morning) prayer
service. Students find joy and inspiration in t'fillah
through making meaningful connections to their lives.
BODY AND BRAIN FITNESS
What better way to start the day than with a workout?
Every morning, students head to the gym for 20
minutes of daily physical activity that includes dance,
sports, fitness and mindfulness.
INSPIRING DESIGN THINKING
As a design, critical and creative thinking exercise,
students identify a real-world challenge and conceive
a way to solve it. For the winter boot project, students
learn how boots are made and investigate properties
of different materials to keep feet dry and warm in
winter. They then create their own concepts and
designs. The results are always extraordinary!
