GRADE SIX
HOW DID YOU DO THAT?
STEM continues to be an important focus, and in
Grade 6 it's all about robotics! Students learn to
build and program a robot to navigate the area of a
triangle drawn on paper. For global collaboration, our
classes twin with a school in Israel to bring different
perspectives from across the world. It's global and
digital citizenship at its best!
THE SHOFAR EXPERIENCE
— BUILDING LEADERSHIP
Students participate in a 3-day overnight leadership
trip. Activities include a STEM challenge, ShinShinim
program, outdoor activities and crafting shofars for
Rosh Hashanah. Students learn about the significance
and role of the shofar, explore how they are made,
then make their own shofar and carrying bag.
BUDDY DAYS
There is a lot of high fiving in the halls of RHA. Our
students get to know each other well and that's largely
because of the buddy program. Bigger buddies
read to the little ones. They march together on
Yom Ha'Atzmaut. This program creates a nurturing
environment for our younger students and instills
leadership and compassion in our older ones.
LEARNING THROUGH THE ARTS
In the Arts Block, students study music, visual arts,
social justice in media, photography, coding and Israeli
arts and culture. The Arts enhance learning, wellness,
social development, problem-solving skills and
strengthen visual, auditory and motor brain function.
