36 ZACH HYMAN, CLASS OF 2006 Zach is a professional hockey player and published author of children's literature. A beloved player for the hometown team, Toronto Maple Leafs, for five seasons, Zach joined the Edmonton Oilers in 2021. Zack once played for RHA's hockey team! In a recent article in AJNews, he said that "The supportive Jewish environment he was raised in gave him a strong foundation of support for launching and sustaining his professional hockey career." When asked about his success, Zach says, "If you want something, you have to give it your all. You have to get up, dust yourself off and keep going. Not everything is going to go your way all the time. But if you work hard enough, you will get there. So much of what I learned about attitude, hard work and gratitude came from RHA." MICHAEL FERMAN, CLASS OF 1997 Michael proudly attended Robbins Hebrew Academy, formerly USDS, as a student from JK through to Grade 8. In 2015, Michael returned to his alma mater to join the leadership team as the Director of Admissions and Alumni. Michael has proudly served the Toronto Jewish community in various professional and lay roles over the years. According to Michael, "I am deeply appreciative to RHA for playing a significantly influential role in fostering my Jewish identity and providing leadership opportunities to pave a path for my journey as an educator and communal professional."Michael is married with three children. BONNIE (ABRAMSKY) OPPENHEIMER, CLASS OF 2003 Bonnie is passionate about furthering the next generation of leadership, fundraising and development. She has experience in the healthcare and charitable sectors and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance and a Master of Arts Education. Bonnie shared, "I always felt like the teachers at RHA supported and taught me the ability to advocate for myself. Most importantly, the school gave me the best friends that I still have today, 25+ years later. Some of us are married, some of us have kids, some if us are travelling the world, but all of us have the same memories of RHA."Bonnie has two children who attend RHA.
