" I CHERISH ALL THE AMAZING FRIENDSHIPS I'VE MADE THROUGH THE RHA ATHLETIC PROGRAMS." – Ethan Spring, Class of 2013 Creativity and physical fitness are instrumental to academic achievement and social and emotional development. Both promote motivation, concentration, confidence and teamwork. At RHA, our students choose from countless options in the arts and sports. During and after school, students dance, sing, perform and play ball. In our Academy of Excellence, students can choose from a whole slew of activities including yoga, hip-hop, cooking, movie-making, public speaking, martial arts, cartooning, multi-sport and guitar. Every student is given the opportunity to participate in the school play, whether on stage or behind the scenes. Creativity is an integral part of our academic curriculum. Creativity helps students enhance their self-expression. It promotes independent thinking and adaptive problem-solving. It is a mainstay for meeting new and unexpected challenges. A creative learning environment fosters freedom of thinking, and it drives our students to ask new questions and find innovative answers. Physical fitness is no less crucial. Study after study has shown the importance of physical education in school. Not only does it help develop motor skills and muscles. It also promotes academic learning, builds self-esteem, fosters self-discipline and teaches good sportsmanship. Intermural sports are big at RHA. Students compete with other schools in soccer, basketball, hockey, volleyball, softball, flag football and track. And it's not unusual for RHA teams to bring home the medals. That's in addition to daily morning gym for grades 1 to 5. Creativity and athletics are essential, but maybe most important of all, they are fun! f i f t e e n
