It's a rite of passage at RHA for first graders
to receive their own Siddur which they
use daily. At our special Siddur ceremony,
students celebrate with family and friends
through song and dance, and by leading a
Shacharit service where they recite prayers
and blessings.
A New Level of Literacy
RHA is Toronto's only school currently
participating in a pilot project that
is exploring the most effective ways
to teach literacy through the use of
award-winning children's literature.
It's based on studies that have shown
that what children read is as important
as how much they read. The higher
the quality the literature, the better
students read and write.
